WHAT TO EXPECT:

Peggy Hogan and Monty Gwynne will be offering training solutions, teaching videos and video assessments for this course.

The topic of class ONE is learning to use shaping as an effective tool for teaching behaviors. We start the work in protected contact, at liberty (for those who qualify) and we do not use pressure techniques to teach our horses.

The topic of class TWO is introducing how to shape movement behaviors that are useful for management as well as building balance and bio-mechanically correct movement up to and including future riding skills.

The topic of class THREE is learning how to add cues AFTER the behavior has been shaped. The includes adding a "wait" behavior as well.

We will support your process with educational material, teaching videos, discussion and help with your training plan. To maximize your skill acquisition participation is expected. This is not an auditor class.

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS - READ CAREFULLY

To maximize your skill acquisition and ability to progress in future course, full participation is required.

We do not accept auditors in our classes. Be ready to work, learn AND participate.

The first two video coaching courses will run for 17 days each with a few days of break between classes. The third class is 24 days long.

Classes include other participants who are also working on training the same behaviors.

During the course you will be able to post videos of yourself when requested. Specific details of the video protocol will be posted on the group.

Participants can post their videos to YouTube (as an unlisted video) and post the link in the class structure. Other options are Vimeo or Google Drive. IF you have technical difficulties posting videos you will want to research this before the start of class.

The class will be held in a private platform called CANVAS. When you pay, you will receive an email from us. When the class is ready to open you will be sent an invitation by email to join the class.

You must provide me with the EXACT email address AND name you want to use for the course.
You also need to notify me if your email for PayPal differs from the one you want to use for Canvas.

Using that information I will send you an invitation to join the course. Once you receive the invitation you can sign up.

You will need to create a CANVAS account on a computer. AFTER you do that, accept the invitation to the class using a computer, then you can download the app. I've used both, and they are both user friendly.

It also helps to friend me on FB in case we need an alternative way to keep in touch.
